The School Council consists of a representative from each year (Year 1 upwards). Pupils prepare their campaign and then present a short speech to their class giving reasons why they should be elected. All pupils then vote during school ballot day to choose their class representatives.

The School Council meet regularly to put forward their ideas of how to improve the school but also bring suggestions from their class to the meetings.  They regularly provide feedback to the school through assemblies.

During the year, the School Council take part in various activities: organising fundraising activities, working with FOSS (Friends of Salterlee School) to help plan our annual ‘Monster Ball’, planning activities for World Book Day and other whole-school curriculum days.

The School Council also fundraise for various charities including Children in Need, Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, Jeans for genes and Comic Relief.
